On January 5, 2010, Silence Therapeutics completed its merger with Intradigm. A new website for the merged company is under development. In the meantime, please visit www.silence-therapeutics.com.
It is important to note that unlike Intradigm, many of the company’s competitors are pursuing liposomal-focused delivery approaches for RNAi therapeutics. Intradigm’s nanoparticles have the potential to enable safe systemic delivery to nearly any tissue in the body. To date, liposomal systems have only demonstrated delivery of siRNA to a small selection of the body’s organs. |

To achieve the goal of systemic delivery of RNAi therapeutics, Intradigm has developed a proprietary process for creating nanoparticles that combine active siRNA molecules with the company’s novel PolyTran™ biodegradable peptide-based polymers. These PolyTran polymers have been optimized for efficient siRNA delivery, providing the nanoparticles created by Intradigm with the following attributes:
Intradigm’s nanoparticles are modular, allowing them to be easily modified by PEGylation or the attachment of targeting moieties. These modifications further enhance the delivery features of the nanoparticles by increasing their half-life and reducing immunogenicity (PEGylation) and enabling delivery directly to targeted cells (targeting ligands).
